Traditional Haluski

INGREDIENTS:

8 ounces egg noodles

1/4 cup butter

1 large onion, thinly sliced

1 small head cabbage, cored and thinly sliced

Salt and pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS:

Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the thinly sliced onion to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized and golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.

Add the thinly sliced cabbage to the skillet with the caramelized onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cook the cabbage, stirring occasionally, until tender and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.

Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet with the caramelized onions and cabbage. Toss to combine and heat through.

Season with additional salt and pepper to taste, if needed.

Serve the Traditional Haluski hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley or dill, if desired.
