Homemade Chalupas
Chalupa bread is a delicious Mexican dish sure to please your taste buds, this recipe is easy to follow and will result in a chalupa that is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

INGREDIENTS:

6 Pieces of pita bread
1 lb. Ground beef
1 Packet of taco seasoning
1 C. Shredded cheddar cheese
Shredded lettuce
Chopped tomatoes
Oil for frying

DIRECTIONS:

Heat some oil in a deep sided skillet.
Fry the pita bread for 1-2 minutes on each side until it is browned and fluffy. Drain on a paper towel lined plate.
Add the ground beef to a skillet over medium hight heat and cook until browned completely.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the taco seasoning. Saute for a few more minutes.
Place a layer of shredded lettuce into each of the fried pita breads and top with the meat and chopped tomatoes.
Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and serve.
