INGREDIENTS:
6 slices bacon (chopped)
1 large onion (diced)
1 large head cabbage (cored and sliced)
1 1/2 teaspoons salt (or to taste)
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon paprika
DIRECTIONS:
-Place a large pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
-Add the bacon and cook until crispy. This usually takes about 10 minutes.
-Remove the crispy bacon from the pot onto a clean plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess grease.
-In the same pot with the bacon grease, add the garlic and onion. Saute until aromatic and caramelized. This will take you at least 10 minutes.
-Add the cabbage slices and cook for another 10 minutes.
-Sprinkle onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
-Turn the heat down to low, then cover the pot with a lid.
-Simmer everything for another 30 minutes.
-Remove from the heat.
-Crumble the bacon, then spread them over the cabbage.
-Serve and enjoy!
