Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread Pizza
INGREDIENTS:
1 loaf store-bought garlic bread
4 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cups heavy cream
¾ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon fresh lemon zest
1½ cups chopped rotisserie chicken or leftover chicken
2 egg yolks
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place the garlic bread on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove the bread from the oven and spread 1½ cups of the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the bread. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat.
Add the heavy cream, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, basil, and oregano to the saucepan. Bring to a simmer.
In a small bowl, whisk 2 egg yolks with ¼ cup of the hot cream sauce from the pan to temper the yolks.
Add the tempered egg yolks back into the saucepan and whisk to combine.
Gently simmer the sauce until it thickens, then add the grated Parmesan cheese and whisk until melted.
Stir in the fresh lemon zest.
Spread the chopped rotisserie chicken evenly over the garlic bread.
Spoon the Alfredo sauce evenly over the chicken and top with the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake for another 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
Cut into pieces and serve.
Mix and Knead:
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Pour in warm water and olive oil, stirring until a soft dough forms. Adjust with more flour if needed for a manageable consistency.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for approximately 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Let Rise:
Grease a bowl and place the kneaded dough inside. Cover it with a cloth and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, which usually takes about 1 hour.
Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out onto a floured surface into a rectangle, about 1/2-inch thick.
Add Flavor:
Spread melted butter evenly over the dough surface, then sprinkle with minced garlic, shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley.
Roll and Cut:
Carefully roll up the dough tightly from the long side to form a log. Slice the log into 12 equal pieces.
Bake:
Place the cut rolls with their spiral sides up in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve Warm:
Once baked to perfection, remove the rolls from the oven and serve them warm, ready to be enjoyed by all.
