With this recipe, we provide a means for you to get banana bread, put it in a jar, and from there create the best and most amazing banana bread that you can, and something that you won’t be able to get enough of.  You can make these ahead of time, and then bring the banana bread with you, no matter where you go.

INGREDIENTS:

2/3 cup shortening
2 2/3 cups white sugar
4 eggs
2 cups mashed bananas
2/3 cup water
3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves (I used half a teaspoon because I didn’t want mine too ‘clovey’.)
2/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
You will also need:
12 250 ml canning jars – sterilized
funnel

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat your oven to 325, and from there, you should take about a dozen canning jars and then grease these with whatever grease you want to use.

From there, get a big bowl, and then add the cream shortening and the sugar, until it becomes fluffy and light.

Mash your bananas into the mixture until it’s mushy and combined.

Beat in the eggs, the water, and the bananas, and then, mix it together until it’s combined together to make a banana bread batter.

Sift the baking soda, the baking powder, the cinnamon, salt, and the cloves, mixing it so everything combines.

Combine the spices mixture with the banana mixture, mixing all of this until everything’s combined well.

Put the nuts in there, stirring each of these in there with the spoon.

Grab the canning funnel, and then carefully pour the mixture through the canned means into each of the greased containers, about half full.

DO NOT include the lids on these, and make sure to keep the rims of this very clean. If you see a batter that’s on there, wipe it off.

Put the jars on the rack within your oven, and then, bake this for about 45 minutes, and if they start to rise, don’t’ fret, for they can be pressed down once you’ve finished with the baking …
