INGREDIENTS:
1 cup 230g Butter, softened
2 cups 250g Flour
2/3 cup 85g Powdered sugar
Optional Additions:
Vanilla extract
Salt
Sugar for coating
DIRECTIONS:
1 Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350F 180C and line a baking tray with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
2 Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, vigorously cream together the butter and powdered sugar until the mixture is fluffy and light. This incorporates air into the dough, ensuring a tender cookie.
3 Incorporate Flour: Gradually add the flour to the creamed mixture, mixing until the dough is smooth and well-combined. Adjust the doughs consistency with additional flour if needed.
4 Shape Cookies: Choose your shaping method:
Disk Form: Flatten the dough into a disk, wrap it, and chill for an hour. Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness and cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
Log Shape: Shape the dough into a log, wrap it, and freeze for 30 minutes. Cut into 1/4-inch slices for round cookies.
5 Bake: Arrange the cookies on the prepared tray and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until they begin to golden around the edges.
6 Cool and Serve: Allow the cookies to cool slightly on the tray before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.
